● Desk & Chair: Study desk height 28–30 in (71–76 cm) with a depth of 24–30 in (61–76 cm). Chair seat height 17–19 in (43–48 cm), allowing elbows to rest comfortably at desk level.
● Ergonomics: Keep the monitor 20–30 in (50–76 cm) from your eyes, with the top of the screen at or slightly below eye level. Maintain 90° angles at your elbows and knees for better posture.
● Clearance & Layout: Leave 36–42 in (91–107 cm) behind the chair for easy movement. Provide at least 30–36 in (76–91 cm) of circulation space around the study area.
● Storage: Bookshelves should be 10–12 in (25–30 cm) deep, while cabinets and drawers are typically 16–20 in (41–51 cm) deep. Frequently used shelves are best positioned 48–60 in (122–152 cm) from the floor for easy access.
● Lighting & Styling: Position the desk near natural light whenever possible. Add a task lamp with the light source just above eye level, and keep desk accessories minimal to maintain a clean, productive workspace.
